That the Da Vinci Code book has been out for over three years, sold over 60.5 million copies worldwide, but the Opus Dei/Catholic backlash only gets into full swing just as the movie launches. For Mary Magdalene’s sake, people. I have two questions for those upset by the release of this film:

1. Do you realize that the book is classified as “fiction”?
2. Why is the same material so much more offensive as a movie than as a book?

The reputation damage was already done. Those that believe Opus Dei and/or the Catholic church is full of muderous albinos likely won’t be convinced by the righteous outrage to the release of the film.
