The recipient of the American Express People’s Choice Award was made official today after online voting at www.calgaryfilm.com closed at 11:59pm (MST) on Monday, October 1, 2007. ROCK PAPER SCISSORS by

Calgary filmmaker Mike McKeown is the winner of the inaugural American Express People’s Choice Award. ROCK PAPER SCISSORS, a verité style documentary, follows the story of the Walker brothers and the evolution of Rock Paper Scissors into a legitimate sport of skill and strategy, worthy of training and competition.

This truly is testimony to the outstanding work done by Mike McKeown and his crew along with the fine folks at Good ‘n Proper.

To forestall the innevitable questions, No, we don’t have a Toronto screening planned yet, but I will post here and let the facebook groups know as soon as their is any info available.

And don’t forget the 2007 World Championships of RPS are coming up on Saturday, October 13th at the Steam Whistle Brewery – tickets are on sale now.
